Busy Days!
Turns out it is very hard to keep up on blogging when your husband works from home and needs the computer all day! We are keeping busy and warm...for the most part. Our furnace recently broke around 9am on a Monday morning...and Simon was leaving for work for 3 days at 5 am on Tuesday morning. Not great timing! We had a new system put in on Tuesday, but it wasn't able to run until around 4pm. So no heat from Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon made for a very cold house! I was kind of jealous that Caelin got to go to co-op for a few hours (after a delayed start b/c of low temps), at least she got to be warm! Other than that, we survived our 3 days without daddy but were sure glad to see him when he got home! I think poor Connor has only been to preschool twice since mid December! After Christmas break, he has missed two weeks worth because it is just so stinkin' cold! Speaking of cold...I now regret agreeing to potty the neighbor's dog. Sure, its easy money and all fun and games when the weather is nice. But right now? Yeah. Not worth it. AT ALL. Especially because I'm pretty sure that dog could hold it all day. So that is a brief update. Surviving the cold and Simon's work travels, trying to get back into the swing of 'school' after Christmas break (poor homeschoolers' don't get snow days or shortened days for cold temps) thinking about school options for next year, oh...and we started Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. So we're supposed to budget and stuff. We already try to budget, but I think this is going to take it to a whole different level. Probably to a level where I need to actually stick to the budget.

You've got to be kidding me.
Caelin is doing Upward Cheerleading this winter. I'm not so sure about the whole cheer thing...but I think its good that she is branching out and trying something besides CYT. So her first practice she comes home with these:
These are her pom poms. Seriously. No, for real. I had to sit there and separate and twist all of these little plastic ribbon type thingies. By hand.
It took forever.
But its done. I don't know if its right...but whatever. I can't be the only mom who didn't know what she was doing/waited too long to get started and was scrambling to get them done before the next practice. And so far...I don't think she's loving the cheer thing. Of course we don't even watch sports so I don't think she even totally 'gets' it. Not that I want her watching what the 'professional' cheerleaders do...since I don't think it has much at all to do with cheering anymore. I'm thinking that maybe once they actually start doing games, she might think that is exciting.
